Our Wedding

How We Met

Our story began on Hinge in August 2023, although not quite in the way either of us expected. Jacque came across something on Evan’s profile that she strongly disagreed with and decided to message him so she could set him straight. Fortunately for both of us, the conversation went much better than she planned. We connected almost immediately. After a day or two of messaging, Jacque gave Evan her phone number, and our first phone call lasted eight hours. By our first or second conversation, before we had even met in person, we both felt that something extraordinary was happening.A few days later, we went on our first date. What began as Jacque trying to teach Evan a lesson quickly became the beginning of our story.

The Proposal

One year later, Evan brought Jacque back to the beautiful lookout point where we had our second date. It was already a special place to us, with an incredible view of the stars and memories from the beginning of our relationship. After celebrating our anniversary with a special dinner, we returned to the lookout. Beneath the same night sky we had admired together a year earlier, Evan proposed, and Jacque said yes.

Our Life Together

We are both entrepreneurs, both love to laugh, and both bring our own personalities, ideas, and perspectives to our relationship. We have plenty of differences, but they balance us. Our similarities, shared values, and sense of humor keep us connected.Zuzu, Jacque’s incredibly sweet and lovable dog, has also become an important part of our story and our little family.More than anything, we are incredibly happy together and grateful that one unexpected message brought us into each other’s lives. We cannot wait to begin this next chapter and celebrate with the family and friends who have loved and supported us along the way.

Our Story

Getting to Arizona

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is the recommended airport for our wedding weekend. It is the most convenient airport for guests staying in Phoenix, Tempe, or Mesa and offers the widest selection of flights and rental cars.We recommend booking flights early, as late October is a popular time to visit Arizona.

Getting Around

Transportation will not be provided between the airport, hotels, and wedding events, so guests should plan their transportation in advance.Uber and Lyft are widely used throughout the Phoenix area. Waymo, a driverless ride service, may also be available depending on your pickup location and destination. Guests who plan to explore Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, or the surrounding area may prefer to rent a car.Complimentary self-parking is available at Stonebridge Manor. Parking availability and fees at each recommended hotel are listed with the hotel information on our Hotels page. Please allow extra travel time during busier periods, as drive times may vary depending on traffic and rideshare availability.

Renting a Car

Guests who would like the flexibility to explore the Phoenix area may prefer to rent a car. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has a dedicated Rental Car Center with major rental companies, including Enterprise, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, National, and others. The Rental Car Center is accessible from the airport terminals using the complimentary PHX Sky Train.Turo is also available as an alternative for guests who prefer to reserve a specific vehicle from a local host. Airport pickup and return instructions, delivery fees, and parking charges may vary, so please review the reservation details carefully before booking. We recommend reserving rental vehicles in advance, as October is a popular time to visit Arizona.

Although our wedding falls on Halloween, we look forward to celebrating with you in your wedding attire. No costumes, please.

OUTDOOR WEDDING

Please note that our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all take place outdoors at Stonebridge Manor.Late October evenings in Mesa can become cool after sunset, so we recommend checking the forecast and bringing a jacket, wrap, or other light layer. Please also choose footwear that will be comfortable for walking and standing outdoors.

WELCOME PARTY

The Welcome Party will be dressy casual. Please choose something polished and put together while still comfortable enough for a relaxed evening of dinner, drinks, and conversation.

Appropriate options include sundresses, midi dresses, jumpsuits, skirts with a blouse, dressy separates, button-down shirts, polos, chinos, dress pants, loafers, dress shoes, and casual blazers.

Suits, ties, tuxedos, and formal gowns are not necessary.

Please do not wear jeans, shorts, athletic wear, sweatshirts, graphic T-shirts, athletic sneakers, or flip-flops.

WEDDING CEREMONY AND RECEPTION

Black Tie Optional

Our wedding ceremony and reception will be black tie optional. Guests are welcome to wear traditional black tie attire, but a tuxedo or full-length gown is not required. The overall look should be formal, elegant, and appropriate for an evening wedding.

For women, appropriate options include floor-length gowns, formal midi dresses, elevated cocktail dresses, elegant jumpsuits, or dressy separates. Formal shoes, heels, dressy flats, and polished accessories are all appropriate.

For men, a tuxedo is welcome but not required. A dark suit in black, navy, charcoal, or another formal color paired with a dress shirt, tie, and dress shoes is also perfectly appropriate.

Please avoid casual suits, polos, jeans, sneakers, and other casual attire.

We also ask guests to avoid wearing white, ivory, cream, or outfits that could appear predominantly bridal.

Most importantly, choose something that makes you feel confident and ready to celebrate with us. We cannot wait to see everyone dressed up for the occasion!
